Local Observations
Community weather reports from across Richmond and surrounding counties.
Observations are unverified user reports — they may not reflect official NWS data.
About these observations
This page is the community's eyes on the sky. Neighbors across the Richmond metro — from The Fan and the West End to Chesterfield, Hanover, the Northern Neck, and beyond — report what they're seeing in real time: current temperatures, sky conditions, precipitation type and intensity, wind, flooding, hail, and any storm damage. Reports appear on the live map and feed within moments of submission, giving you a street-level picture of conditions that single airport sensor can't capture.
Because RVA sits at the fall line where the Piedmont meets the coastal plain, conditions can differ dramatically across short distances — a line of heavy rain can soak Chesterfield while Northside stays dry, and winter storms often produce a snow-to-sleet gradient right through the metro. Every report includes a micro-climate zone so you can compare what's happening in your neighborhood against the rest of the region.
Observations are community-submitted and shown as reported; our team reviews and flags notable reports during active weather, and verified spotters are labeled. Use the Submit tab to file your own report, the Feed tab to browse the latest entries, and the Map tab to see everything plotted across the region.
